I am a qualified counsellor in private practice and my therapeutic focus is on helping adults being challenged by stress, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, loss or grief.
I understand that making the first contact is often the hardest step for many people. I am always happy to discuss any questions you may have to help you decide if therapy is right for you.
As an integrative counsellor I use a number of approaches depending on what seems appropriate for you and your particular issues.
Therapy is a joint enterprise. I see the role of the counsellor as that of a confidential and compassionate collaborator, supporting you towards solutions that are not imposed by me, but come from within you. The aim of our sessions is to help you have a better understanding of yourself, which in turn will help you deal with the feelings that are encroaching on your current life.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling to adult individuals from Fulcrum House therapy rooms.
My experience includes working with adults with a broad diversity of ages and backgrounds in the NHS and voluntary sector. I have worked with a range of issues, from low self-esteem, early traumas, career-related stress and relationship difficulties to anxiety, parental issues and suicidal thoughts. I have experience in bereavement and loss and can help with what can be a very difficult time in your life.
