As a qualified integrative counsellor, I practise one-to-one in a manner that integrates various established therapeutic approaches, such as person-centred, psychodynamic, psycho-education and mindfulness.
Fundamental to this is that the therapeutic relationship is placed squarely at the centre of all the work that I do.
Collectively, this all means that I counsel in a way that responds to what is going on in the room- the unique and rich human-to-human meeting between us in the room. I endeavour to work with you and your specific needs/aims for counselling in a manner that supports you optimally within the unfolding counselling process.
Undertaking counselling, it is important that you feel safe and able to trust in sessions, and I aim to engender this by non-judgementally hearing and confidentially honouring what you need to talk about.
Alongside my private practice, I am a counsellor in a Bristol organisation working solely with survivors of sexual abuse and rape.
In this life, we humans are beset by all manner of problematic experiences, some of which, though painful, do feel clear cut and understandable to us as individuals. Others confound and torment us (emotionally/ psychologically/physically). Some of the issues that counselling can help support you with are: anxiety, depression, stress, anger, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, childhood issues, parenting issues and bereavement.
