An Ecopsychology Journey
The most remarkable feature of this historical moment on Earth is not that we are on the way to destroying the world — we’ve actually been on the way for quite a while. It is that we are beginning to wake up, as from a millennia-long sleep, to a whole new relationship to our world, to ourselves and each other. Joanna Macy
Our hearts call us to another way of living. We do not want to be destructive. We want to live harmoniously; to find again our right relationship with the Earth, but we are immersed in a culture where the predominant story is one of separation.
To step into the new story – one of interbeing and connection – we need each other and circles like this which offer a space to be present with all of our feelings in relation to the earth & the challenges we and future generations face.
The work that reconnects draws on over 30 years of experiential group-work developed by Joanna Macy, John Seed and many others in the deep ecology movement. Its roots are in eco-psychology & spiritual ecology.
Jane Sanders UKCP came across Joanna Macy’s work in the early 80’s and has been involved in the emerging field of ‘eco-psychology‘ through training therapists and facilitating the work that reconnects.
She has worked in Glastonbury for 25 years as a Core Process Psychotherapist.
